Boligforeningen ØsterBO is an organisation that aims to build, lease, manage and maintain housing in accordance with housing regulations.
We have been doing our best to fulfil this aim for more than 70 years in close cooperation with Vejle Municipality. We currently manage approximately 3,000 tenancy units. New housing projects are also continuously being planned to satis-fy demand, and new housing developments are in the pipe-line.
At ØsterBO we aim to be able to offer all forms of housing, and we have a wide range of family homes in apartment blocks and terraced units, as well as housing for young people and homes for the elderly in suitable locations and set amid pleasant surroundings, in the centre of town, out in the country and close to forests and the water.

We are renowned for keeping our many housing divisions in excellent condition. Our older divisions are also undergoing extensive modernisation in the form of, for instance, repair and replacement of various structural elements, installations, new kitchens and bathrooms, etc. Outdoor areas are also well tended and encourage a range of activities. Many of our divi-sions also feature artistic elements, giving residential areas their own identity which residents can be proud of.
ØsterBO is organised and managed with deference to one of the pillars of social housing organisations – namely tenant de-mocracy. Almost all our housing divisions elect a divisional board. These tenant-elected representatives carry out a lot of work, including budgeting, modernisation and refurbishment work, and arrange leisure activities on behalf of residents. All these divisional board members together make up ØsterBO's board of representatives, which, as the organisation's supreme authority, elects ØsterBO's own board.
ØsterBO's management is based at Treschowsgade 4, where a dedicated team ensures that the board's decisions are implemented, while helping our many tenants and members with lettings, repairs and other residential servicing.
Our properties are subject to an official code of practice. This means, among other things, that ØsterBO is a non-profit organisation. The rent from our homes is cost-related and therefore only covers expenses associated with the running and management of properties.
In the brochures you will find a complete list of all our divisions. The divisions are divided according to area and details provided include division number, name and address. Information is also provided about building type, year of construc-tion, number of rooms, number of homes, approximate rent, rules on pets, and approximate waiting times.
If you would like to be considered for one of the units, you must be a member of the Boligforeningen ØsterBO housing association and be on the association's waiting list.
Listing (membership) costs DKK 200, and an annual fee of DKK 150 is payable in order to retain your membership number. When you, as a member, are assigned an apartment by ØsterBO, you will be removed from the list. At that point, you must decide whether or not you wish to be re-listed for a new home at a later date.
If you are not already a member of ØsterBO, but would like to be a member of ØsterBO, please fill out THIS FORM- (remember to put the dot in "Alle boliger (kr. 200)"), where you can apply to be added to our list and can contact ØsterBO to request a giro transfer form. Payment can also be made at ØsterBO's office. NB! We do not accept cash. Payment by Dankort/VISA/Electron/MasterCard only.
